WR chief PRO Sharat Chandrayan said, “After the demand from passengers increased, we initiated the pilot project. At present, a few windows have been opened at a few major stations. But the facility will be extended towards other stations as well once we receive positive feedback from commuters.”u00a0

Some of the railway officials said the response to the project was overwhelming as they received calls from female and handicapped commuters, thanking them for the initiative.

Sunil Chimalkar, a disabled passenger, appreciating the WR initiative, said, “Finally, we have got our right. This is an appreciable step taken by the WR authorities. Earlier, it used to be very difficult for handicapped and female passengers, especially pregnant women, to stand in a queue to purchase a ticket. But now the situation has improved.”u00a0
