You need not go to the parlour anymore for grooming sessions for your pet. Hot Wheels for Pets, Mumbai's first mobile dog shampoo and cleaning van, cleans your pets and gives them a makeover by visiting homes in south Mumbai, Bandra and Juhu.

Started in the first week of March by dog lover Andrea Khurana, who trained in Australia for the job, the unit offers a variety of services, including a special shower, tub bath, hair colouring, detangling and specialised Poodle haircuts at your doorstep.
"Dog owners don't know much about dealing with their pets. All they do is love them," said Andrea.u00a0 She has remodelled a van and equipped it with everything from specialised nail clippers and scissors to talcum powders and medicines, so that she does not have to search for resources on location.
According to Andrea, the idea behind the mobile unit is to educate pet owners. "Maintaining the health of pets is essential. Owners should make time for their pets and not depend on servants," added Andrea.
She pointed that most dogs with a long coat need to be regularly brushed out. "Since regular cleaning is not done, most long-haired pets end up with tangled hair, ticks and wounds," said Andrea.
She added that only giving a bath to the pet is not enough. Speaking out against gifting pets, Andrea said, "Many people gift pets to family and friends, especially children. Though they love their pets immensely, their cleanliness goes for a toss. And it is the pets who suffer."
