She wanted money for bail of her lover and so decided to steal from her employer

In yet another case of help looting the employer, an attendant was arrested on Thursday for burgling the house of her employer, a doctor, to arrange money for the release of her lover. The accused, Pinki, plotted the burglary along with her lover's friend, Mohammad Asif, to commit the burglary at the house of one Dr Ajay Sapra, Ashok Vihar, north-west Delhi.

Pinki was arrested along with Asif by a team of north-west district police on Wednesday following a tip-off. None of them have been previously involved in any criminal case. Asif works as a plumber.

Meenu Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner of Police, north-west, said, "Pinki is in relationship with a bad character, identified as Sachin, who is in judicial custody at present. Pinki wanted to arrange money for his bail. She knew Sapra kept huge sums of money and jewellery inside a locker in his room. On 1 October, when the doctor went on a foreign trip, Pinki grabbed her chance."

Pinki and Asif entered the house around 8 pm, when Sapra's father, Bhimsen, was alone. Asif hid himself under the stairs and in the midnight broke open the door of Sapra"s room and ransacked the locker. He decamped with valuables including gold and silver jewellery, six wrist watches, a laptop, two digital cameras and cash, she said.
