Welsh swimmer David Davies is so worried about the security in Delhi that the Olympic silver medallist has asked his parents not to travel to India to watch him compete in the Commonwealth Games later this year.
u00a0Apprehensive about potential terror attacks during the October 3-14 Games, Davies said he himself would try to make his Indian sojourn as short as possible.

"I'm planning to fly in and, as soon as the job is done, fly straight out," the swimmer told BBC Radio Wales' "Back Page" show. "I've told my parents not to go, I'd be worried about them walking around the streets. I don't want that on my mind," said the 2006 1500m freestyle gold medallist.
A silver medallist at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, the swimmer said he had confidence in the security experts but insisted the situation was far from ideal.
u00a0"It should be purely about sport, but that's not the way the world works. Politics and sport are inter-linked now. It's the biggest issue we've had at any event so it is a bit more worrying. "But I have confidence in the people who look after us and in our security, we won't be under any threat," he said.
