British Airways announced a flash one-day sale today, offering massive discount of up to 90 per cent on return tickets between Mumbai and London to commemorate nine decades of its India operations.
Under the offer, the lowest-priced Mumbai-London return ticket would start at Rs 40,252 for economy travel from October 1-31, this year, the airline said in a statement.
Christopher Fordyce, Regional Commercial Manager, British Airways, South Asia, said, “We, at British Airways, are pleased to introduce this once-in-a-lifetime offer for our customers from Mumbai as part of our 90 year’s anniversary celebration in the market. We have had a long, magnificent journey since our first flight to India – offering the very best in comfort and luxury and will continue to seek inspiration from our original, historic ethos.”
This year, British Airways completed 90 glorious years of flying to India and the premium airline has been commemorating the anniversary with a series of local initiatives and offers for its customers in India.
Early this month, British Airways welcomed its Indian customers with sale offers of the season on flights from India to selected destinations. The airline introduced up to 50% off on flights to selected destinations in the UK, USA, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean, including London, New York and San Francisco from India. The offer continues to be valid on flights booked in Club World (business cabin), World Traveler Plus (premium economy cabin) and World Traveler (economy cabin) for sale period, 08 -30 September, 2014 and outbound travel period, 08 September to 31 December 2014.
British Airways currently operates 48 flights a week from London Heathrow to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
