A worker was killed and at least three others injured as a massive fire broke out Wednesday in container freight station in this township of Maharashtra's Raigad district, adjoining Mumbai, police said

A worker was killed and at least three others injured as a massive fire broke out Wednesday in container freight station in this township of Maharashtra's Raigad district, adjoining Mumbai, police said


"A few workers were working on welding some machinery when their working area caught fire," an official from New Panvel police station told IANS.


"The fire soon spread in the surrounding areas of the plant of Apollo LogiSolutions, where a man was charred to death," she added.


Two fire tankers and an ambulance were rushed to the spot immediately and the fire officials have been able to bring the fire under control.

The injured were taken to nearby hospital, while police are trying to identify the dead man.
