Assiatant Commissioner of Police Sunil Prakash Gharge (Khadki division) will conduct the probe, under the guidance of DCP Manoj Patil, and submit his report in 48 hours.
Speaking to MiD DAY, Patil said, “We’ll take strict action against ACP VT Pawar, the police officer accused of highhandedness, if he’s found guilty. We also have to consider a lot of people tried to enter the venue, and to control the situation the cops had to resort to a mild lathi-charge. However, we assure you that a fair probe would be conducted.”
Only Much Louder (OML) Director Girish ‘Bobby’ Talwar, who had complained about the incident, said, “As we had to rush to Delhi for the concert, we didn’t lodge a formal complaint against ACP Pawar. However, we had given a written application about what transpired that night, and the police should treat it as an official complaint while probing the matter.”
Meanwhile, the police will go through the CCTV footage of the incident to understand what actually happened on Wednesday night.

The organisers have alleged that ACP Pawar wanted to bring in guests of his who did not have appropriate passes to enter the event. The ACP had already been given several complimentary passes for the Rs 8,000 ‘platinum gate’, but he came up with another group of his guests and tried to slot them into the platinum section without the required passes. When he was asked how many more guests he had, he started hitting them.
