In one such situation, we logged on to Top Doctor Online, a new app that offers live consultation with doctors and other medical professionals, on your smart phone.

After a live chat with an expert from the Top Doctor team, it turned out that the burning sensation may have been because of spicy food. We found relief with one dose of Pudin Hara, as suggested by the expert.
We also discovered that our smoking habit could have aggravated the problem. Perhaps, that’s why this discomfort had become a frequent occurrence. We were advised to change our diet and consume more fluids, and seek consultation if the problem aggravated. This was a free service, however, users can also avail of consultations from top professionals after a payment.
There’s more to the app. Top Doctor Online allows you to book appointments for scans and diagnostics, tests and profiles, as well as seek treatment and opinions from reputed doctors in the city. Simply select a service from the list and fill in the form to receive a call back for the selected test/treatment. We didn’t like that several services offered in the app, especially the treatments, consultations and scans, do not mention the price. Besides, there’s no clarity on the availability of doctors.
Despite these hitches, we love that Top Doctor Online offers free live chat sessions with their team of doctors. It could be a handy tool to provide first aid, especially for minor niggles and in situations where it’s difficult to reach a medical professional. The app is available as a free download on Android phones.
