I am a Punjabi in relationship with a girl from Chennai. I have never been with any other girl except her in my life.

I am a Punjabi in relationship with a girl from Chennai. I have never been with any other girl except her in my life. I’m scared about the reaction my dad will give, if I tell him I wish to marry her. The same is the case with her. We do not want to upset our family members as we love them a lot. How should we approach them?

Dear Gurpreet,
It is not such a big deal considering the number of north-south marriages. You have not even told your family, so how do you know how they will react? First, let your and her folks know and then think about the consequences. It is strange that you have been with her for years, but they have no knowledge of it. If you’ll are determined, you should know how to handle the situation.
