Siblings Sam and Daisy Coleman dominated proceedings at the inaugural P1 Powerboat Indian Grand Prix of the Seas, winning both races on the event's opening day in commanding fashion.

The pair, part of the Baleno RS Booster Jets squad, won the day's first 15-lap race in the choppy waters off Marine Drive by a whopping 34 seconds, with brother, Sam piloting and sister, Daisy navigating. The Mirchi Mavericks — John Donnelly (pilot) and Kevin Burdock (navigator) were second, while the Lloyd Dolphins —Craig Wilson (pilot) and William Enriquez (navigator) were third. The Colemans began the opening race from pole position, after also setting the fastest time in qualifying on Friday, and enjoyed a straightforward run to the flag. They started the second race from the back with the qualifying order reversed as per the rules, but the reigning UK P1 Powerboat champions fearlessly scythed their way up the order cutting through the churning wake coming off their rivals' boats.

"Exhausted! It's so hard out there in this heat. Thirty-five, forty minutes… in a 1,650 kilo beast. It's just hard work," said Sam Coleman after the second race.
