India’s Leander Paes and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek stormed into the quarter-finals of the US Open men’s doubles event with a comfortable 6-1, 6-3 win over USA’s Jesse Levine and Australia’s Marinko Matosevic.

The fifth seeds will next face the winners of the match between Swedish-Romanian pair of Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau and Austrian-Slovak duo Julian Knowle and Filip Polasek. In mixed doubles, Paes with Elena Vesnina of Russia overcame unseeded American-Filipino duo of Raquel Kops-Jones and Treat Conrad Huey 6-4, 7-5 on Saturday.
