The former president’s wife insists that since the money in their bank accounts were reserved for the welfare of the general population of Pakistan, the account cannot be frozen indefinitely.
Musharraf, who has been on a self-imposed exile since he was deposed, also faces arrest warrants for his connection to the Lal Masjid operation and the killings of Baloch leader Nawab Akber Bugti in 2006. He has not returned to Pakistan for the last several years.
