FYJC student's admission in Parel college cancelled, as, unlike Bihar, passing English is mandatory in state
Sunny Kumar Das (19) passed his Std X board exams from Bihar earlier this year and took admission to study Arts in M D College, Parel.
Three months after attending classes, his admission has been cancelled after the college discovered that Das, hadu00a0 failed English in Std X, an an optional subject for Das, according to the Bihar board.
Passing certificate
"I appeared for the first term examination in October, andu00a0 in November, the college asked me to submit my Bihar board certificate that showed that I had cleared Std X.

Das's passing certificate states that he has secured second class in Hindi, Sanskrit, Mathematics, Social Science and Natural Sciences and Economics.
However, his marksheet shows that he has passed in all subjects except English, an optional subject.
Rambabu Das, the boy's father, said, "The college did not ask my son to quit, instead I was called to sign a form, which said that I was cancelling my son's admission from the college."
