Deva, a drag racing addict, who has studied till pre university course, was working as a security guard. Police sub-inspector, S Dodamani said, "Deva joined a textile shop as a sales man and kept visiting cyber cafu00e9s to play racing games. These video games created a desire in him to steal bikes that he could not buy."

According to the police, Deva shared his plan with his friends Anil (20) and Nanjunda (21).

"They first planned to steal a foreign bike but failed to do it. Then his friends Anil and Nanjunda felt that stealing foreign bikes were dangerous and instead decided on concentrating on Indian bikes. Deva agreed to his friend's views and they stole a local bike," said Dodamani.u00a0

"Then, one day, Deva went to the cyber cafu00e9 where the bike owner was present. He saw his bike and recognised it. He informed the police and Deva was caught. Had we not busted the case, the trio would have done it on a large scale," added Dodamani.
