With only a day to go for the inaugural edition of the Vasai-Virar Mayor's Marathon to be flagged off on Sunday, the race route continues to be uneven at quite a few places and the organisers have their hands full as far as rectifying the course is concerned.

"We will try and rectify all problems along the race route by Saturday evening. We will ensure the course will be safe to run on. We want people to support the cause of the event 'Save the Girl Child and Maintain Nature's Balance'," Patil told MiD DAY yesterday.

Organisers said that the route will be lined up with 14 water stations besides a fully equipped medical camp near the start line and nine medical stations along the route. There will be eight fully equipped ambulances.
