Train services on the Harbour line were disrupted during the peak hours in the evening causing inconvenience to thousands of commuters on their way back home to Navi Mumbai.

The fault occurred in a CST-Panvel local train that was reaching Sandhurst Road station at around 5.20 pm. Train services on the suburban line between CST and Kurla have been disrupted since.

Sources said that there was an unit failure wherein the motor fitted inside one of the coaches experienced technical failure. The people complained that there were no trains starting from CST on the Harbour line since then and that they will be allowed to ply on the Main line after which people can change from Kurla.

Train services were resumed by 7 pm.
