A bibliomancer helps you dive into books and seek answers from the universe
Homer's Iliad was used for bibliomancy
"We are travellers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal," this verse from Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist summarises the purpose of human existence and underlines the complexity of life.

"Everything in the world is sacred," says Amrisha Ahuja, the bibliomancer who has been conducting workshops in Delhi and Mumbai for eight years. She is a psychologist, healer, Reiki practitioner and a clinical hypnotherapist.

Ahuja explains that Bibliomancy is a form of divination in which the participants seek spiritual insight by randomly selecting a passage of a book and interpreting it. The person practising bibliomancy asks a clear question that they want answered, and interpret the content accordingly. Tarot card reading is a form of bibliomancy. People tend to seek answers to their doubts related to career choices, relationships, work and family using. In short, bibliomancy is a form of fortune telling.
This practice has been around for over 3,000 years. The ancient Greeks used Homer's Iliad or Odyssey to seek answers. In the Middle Ages, Virgil's Aeneid was a popular choice in this study. The I Ching, the Bible, the Mahabharata and the Quran have also been used for this subject.
There are no specific books to practise this divination. Comics, novels, magazines or even a volume of poetry can be used to practice bibliomancy. For the workshop, books will be provided to the participants but they are also allowed to bring the books of their choice. "The purpose of the workshop is to connect with the universe and yourself. There are clear signs and the whole process works magically," assures Ahuja.
