Performing live is scary and exhilarating at the same time: Tanishaa

Medium mattersu00a0
Theatre is a different medium and I had a wonderful experience, performing in front of a live audience. It’s scary and exhilarating at the same time. I love plays; I have an aunt who stays in London and she is a theatre personality. She has been a tremendous influence on me. I love watching Broadway productions.u00a0

A different world
In a film, you interact with the camera while on stage you interact with your fellow actors on a continuous basis. I feel that theatre is more rewarding as there’s a live feedback from the audience. I was a little nervous about performing in front of so many people. I did plays in school, but then, my the audience mostly consisted of my classmates and friends.

Expressing myself
I am somewhat shy as a person and get tongue-tied when I have to interact with the media or a large audience. When I got the opportunity to perform on stage I took it as a challenge and gave my best to it. When I saw the audience, the nervousness went away. I have learnt this that if you love acting, then stage is the place to perform. The one piece of solid advice that my sister Kajol gave me is to feel the character I am playing on stage. It is a very important thing. u00a0
