The Spanish tomato festival, La Tomatina, is making a debut in town. You can spend the weekend throwing tomatoes at your friends
Right after the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara introduced the country to the annual Spanish festival of La Tomatina held in Bunol, the city has its first edition lined up.
Having its origin in an ancient brawl that broke out with vegetable stalls at hand, this festival is all about tomatoes being hurled at each other after being squashed. As messy as it may sound, the festival promises to be a lot of fun with a floor full of squashed tomatoes, sliders and tankers full of water.
La Tomatina became a rage in the country after Bollywood superstars were seen frolicking in a tomato slush in the film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
But it's not just about tomatoes. For music lovers, there is more. A host of DJs like Rohan Kapoor, TT, Donna from Goa, UK-based Markus, Dualtech, Rohit, Varun, Hassan, Sid M O B will play out live tracks to make the party rock. Nearly 4,000 kgs of tomato will be used in this never-seen-before event in town. So, leave your party shoes at home this weekend and take on some tomato madness.
