Ahead of its theatrical release in India, a special screening of Dev Patel-starrer Lion in Delhi has been planned. Union Minister of Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi will host the preview tomorrow for VVIPs in a bid to throw light on missing children in India. The special guest for the evening will be Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to hitlist, the film’s Indian distributor Avinaash Jumani says, "We are glad Manekaji has expressed desire to screen the film. It’s for a noble cause and the thought of the film matters. We are in the process of organising the screening."
The event will also see the launch of the film’s online campaign #LionHeart, which pledges to involve more hands for the betterment of street children. "The makers hope this will create awareness and help the cause of missing children in India," says a source.
Big preparations are underway to welcome PM Modi to the screening. The list of invitees includes Parliamentarians and social dignitaries.
