Acting Chief Medical officer of PMC ST Pardeshi was arrested and later released on bail yesterday.
A case was registered against Pardeshi a couple of days ago at Shivajinagar police station by RTI activist Ravindra Barhate, as the former allegedly does not have registration of Maharashtra Medical Council.
“Pardeshi has violated the norms as he doesn’t have an MMC registration. We had highlighted the issue before the PMC commissioner, but he also overlooked the matter. I subsequently filed a litigation in court and it ordered police to lodge a case,” the activist said. Barhate also alleged that police tried to initially gloss over the matte.

Speaking on the issue, inspector of Shivajinagar police station Pandharinath Patil said, “As per the case we had arrested Pardeshi on Monday morning. He was released on bail the same day.”
Confirming the fact, Pardeshi said, “Police had arrested me, but I demanded bail and secured it.”u00a0
