The standing committee on Wednesday gave its approval to the assessment to be done by an IIT Powai professor. PMC is going to approach assistant professor Dr P Vedagiri, who has already done a safety audit of BRT project for PCMC.

“The audit of only the new 16-km stretch will be done by the IIT professor. Apart from this, we have placed an order for 100 automated doors to be used on this route,” Vishal Tambe, chairperson of PMC standing committee said.

“There are a total of 22 bus stops on the new route. Every bus stop requires four automatic doors. Total funds expected for this project is Rs 2 crore,” added Tambe.u00a0
