It might be recalled that Sheikh was hit by her school bus and dragged along for a few metres after the reckless driver failed to hear her screams as he was listening to music on his mobile phone.

Juwairiah Sheikh, Zahraa's mother said, "Doctors have asked her to take rest as she is still recovering from internal injuries.

It will take some time before she fully recuperates. I've informed the authorities that she won't be able to attend school for a few days."

The school, on its part, has taken measures to ensure that such a similar incident is not repeated. Sanjeev Lele, Transport Manager, Podar International School, said, "We have started confiscating the mobile phones of bus drivers.

We don't allow them to carry their cell phones while driving the school bus. We are also training them to take precautions while driving."
