Poland-Russia match, a major security challenge

Police in the Polish capital Warsaw are gearing up for what has been dubbed their biggest pre- and post-match Euro 2012 security challenge, as the national team takes on old foes Russia

Thousands of Russian fans are planning to march across a central Warsaw bridge to the brand-new National Stadium for tonight’s Group A fixture on what also happens to be the visitors' national day. 

With pockets of Poland and Russia fans having a reputation for violence — and the weight of the two countries’ shared history — concern is high that clashes could erupt even before kick-off.
