Mathura: A team of police officials has left for Delhi to probe into the suicides of Bollywood lyricist Santosh Anand's son Sankalp Anand and daughter-in-law Nandini Anand, police said Friday.

The team, including Assistant Superintendent of Police Priti Priyadarshini and officials Atul Kumar Srivastav and Arvind Kumar, will investigate into the deaths of the couple.

Mathura Senior Superintendent of Police Manzil Saini said the parents have not yet formally filed a complaint, but since the suicide note allegedly implicates more than a dozen top officials of the central home ministry, Santosh Anand has demanded for a CBI inquiry.

Sankalp Anand and his wife Nandini Anand ended their lives by throwing themselves before the Inter-city Express heading for Delhi from Agra Wednesday morning.

An eyewitness, Giriraj, a railway employee told police that he had asked the couple to stay away from the track. But he later saw the couple jumping before the train. Their nine-year-old daughter was, however, thrown away at the last minute and was saved.

On Thursday, police said handwriting experts were being asked to confirm whether the writing in the suicide note was genuine. Family members too have been asked to confirm this.

The belongings and papers of the couple were found in a car parked close to the tracks.

Visibly shattered, Santosh Anand told journalists at the hospital where the bodies were brought that the "last hope of life had gone". He had penned the lyrics of movies "Kranti" and "Roti, Kapda aur Makaan".

"We have no further information on this case," police official Arvind Kumar has said so far.

Sankalp Anand, 38, a lecturer with the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences was said to be in a deep crisis due to his involvement in a bungled deal running into several hundred crores.

Investigations into his bank accounts were on and he was under acute pressure to part away with a huge amount, sources said.
