According to sources said that a small room was constructed in the compound of the post mortem centre for relatives of the deceased persons so that they can perform some of the last rites on the body. However, during the last few months this enclosure was taken over by these 'trespassers' who were using these place for playing cards, gambling and even drinking alcohol.

According to a report in Free Press Journal, some of these characters are also private ambulance drivers who are often on the lookout for gullible victims. "Relatives of deceased persons often need an ambulance to transport the body from the post mortem centre to their houses for the funeral rites," an official said. They even charged exorbitant amounts from the relatives for even small distances as no report card was available.

Acting upon a complaint, the MHB police station reached the spot and removed anti-social elements and locked up the room.
