Mumbai: The Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) authorities along with officials from Powai police station and Excise Department conducted a raid inside the boundary of SGNP near Vihar Lake and demolished an illicit liquor den on wee hours of Wednesday.

Confirming the same an SGNP official said, “We had got a tip-off that there is an illegal liquor den that was operational in the forest premises near Vihar Lake in Powai. Acting on the tip-off, SGNP team along with Powai police team and Excise Department started the search operation inside the forest near Powai and we found an illegal liquor den that was operational. Before we could reach the spot, the people running it ran away.”
