A source close to Pooja tells us that Pooja has been silently doing a lot of social work for the girl child like spreading awareness for the Beti Bachao Andolan.
She's been supporting many NGOs in their cause for women empowerment for the past 5 years.
This is the reason why the government of India felicitated her sincere efforts with the Punjab Ratan award.
Pooja confirms the news, "I am humbled by this honour, as I feel actions speak louder than words."
