India's Krishna Poonia suffered heartbreak in the opening leg of the IAAF Diamond League meeting after finishing last in women's discus throw yesterday.

The Commonwealth Games gold medallist crashed out in the qualification round with a best effort of 55.80m. Meanwhile, in the men’s shot put event, Om Prakash Karhana’s effort of 18.43m helped him finished eighth.
