A flower-decked ambulance carrying the 93-year-old actor's body left the private hospital in suburban Bandra for Shivaji Park in Central Mumbai, where the last rites will take place.
"His body will not be taken home. We will directly go to Shivaji Park crematorium," his daughter Pinky said. Among the early attendees from Bollywood include veteran writer Gulzar. No prominent Bollywood personalities were spotted near the hospital, where a large contingent of mediapersons was present. The last rites of the Dadasaheb Phalke awardee will be performed at noon.
