Muzaffarnagar: The district jail warden has been suspended for negligence of duty in connection with the seizure of seven mobile phones from the prison premises, officials said.
Ziauddin, the warden of district jail here, has been suspended over mobile phones being recovered form the prison, prison officials said.

Seven mobiles were recovered from two barracks in the district jail here which were used for demanding extortion money by the inmates, they said.
Five mobiles were seized from the jail during checking on Sunday, and two more yesterday following a complaint by a businessmen that some inmates were demanding extortion money from him, officials said.
Police has registered a case against unidentified persons and investigation is on to identify those who are responsible for using mobile phones for extortion.
