On Shilpa Shetty’s request, Pritish Nandy has given up his rights to the film name 'Dishkiyaoon'
Shilpa Shetty’s first production venture, Dishkiyaoon, starring Harman Bhaweja and Sunny Deol, may hit the big screen next month, but it seems that actress was unaware that the film’s title was registered with Pritish Nandy’s production house.
A source says, “Initially the film had a different working title, but eventually Shilpa and her crew zeroed in on Dishkiyaoon. The creative team thought that it is an apt name, given the film’s script. But a few days before Shilpa thought of making it the film’s official title, she learnt that the name was already registered by writer/filmmaker Pritish Nandy. She then met him and requested him to let her use the title.”
Fortunately for her, Nandy had no qualms about giving up the title. When contacted, Shilpa confirmed the news. “It was quite sweet of Pritish to part with the title; I shall always be grateful to him for this gentlemanly act. I even gifted him a bottle of his favourite wine and a bouquet of flowers for being so helpful.”
Lata Mangeshkar, who was supposed to lend her voice to one of Shilpa Shetty’s upcoming projects for an NGO, has backed out of the same at the last minute. It seems that the veteran singer had to give the project a miss due to her ill-heath.
Says a source, “Lata didi was supposed to record a song for one of Shilpa’s projects but she had to back out at the last minute due to a throat infection. She has been advised three weeks’ rest for a speedy recovery.”
The source adds that Kailash Kher will now sing this song. “Palash Muchhal has composed music for this song and
it has been produced by Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra,” says the source.
