Benefitting education of the girl child

Priyanka Chopra has taken on a new social cause. She has attached herself to an initiative titled Wave that will sponsor the education of a group of girls and also help build a school.

A source reveals, "Priyanka is particularly interested in the education, especially that of the girl child. When the opportunity came by, she immediately decided to give her support to the initiative.

Despite her commitments, PC has taken personal interest in meeting the group of girls who will benefit from the cause."

The motto for the Wave initiative is 'Adoption for Education' and Chopra will also put together a performance for a concert to raise money to support the charity.

The source adds, "Muskaan and Nanhi Kali are the two NGOs that will work closely with Wave to help garner funds to build a school for the girls."

PC confirms, "When I was asked to be part of this event, I didn't need to think twice.

I wanted to be a part of what is an awesome idea: celebrating everything about women, recognising their immensetalent and drive. I'm honoured to be part of this wonderful initiative."
