Los Angeles: Production work on theatre production and distribution company Toho's new project "Godzilla 2016" has started.
The project was initiated by the company in December last year after the Hollywood version directed by Gareth Evans, featuring the iconic fire-breathing monster became a global success.
A video of "Godzilla 2016" (working title of the film), extras running through the streets near Tokyo's Kamata Station and a stampede at Yokohama's Yokodai Station were posted on Facebook on last week, reported Variety.
Hideaki Anno, best known for his work on the "Evangelion" animation franchise, would co-direct the movie with Anno writing the script.
