In yet another case that highlights the growing number of atrocities against women in the country, a man raped his 20-year-old sister-in-law in Sangvi and threatened to kill her husband if she spoke about the incident.
According to the police, the incident occurred in August, when Aniket Kedari had visited his brother’s residence to check on his sister-in-law’s health.
Taking advantage of the fact that she was alone at home, Aniket raped her. He then threatened the survivor that he would kill his brother if she spoke about the incident.

Sub-inspector C M Kamble from Sangvi police station said, “The woman gathered the courage to tell her mother about the incident on Sunday and a complaint was lodged on Tuesday.”
Officials said it was Aniket’s family that handed him over to the police after a few officers visited his residence for questioning him.
Aniket was arrested yesterday and will be produced in the Shivajinagar court today.
