Talk show
Everyone laughs at this one, but I thought I was being very brave when I gave a speech for the first time in school. I must have been in the third or fourth standard, and my topic was pollution or global warming. I said the speech so fast that no one could make out head or tail of anything that I said.
All they could understand was 'I'm Muzamil Ibrahim' and the 'Thank you' that followed at the end of the speech. I was blushing by the end of it and the audience forgot to clap! I think I was very brave to have lived through it.u00a0
Student saviour
I can never forget the time when I saved a fellow student from drowning in 1992. I was barely eight-years-old then. I received the Rashtrapati Award for bravery in 1994 from the then President Shankar Dayal Sharma. That was a great moment for me.
Water God
The Robinhood trait continued and two years ago, I again saved a 55-year-old British woman from drowning in Goa while I was vacationing there. I was bestowed a Godfrey Philips Bravery Award for the feat.
Man in the mirror
Another brave moment was when I reached the finals of a manhunt contest in 2003. Karan Johar, who was on the panel of judges tossed a bouncer at me asking, "Is it vain to look in the mirror?" To that I replied, "No, because I am good enough to look in the mirror." I knew that I had given a brave answer when KJo stood up to clap for me.
Braving the camera
I was really nervous when I faced the camera for the first time in my life. I had no experience as an actor, but once the camera started rolling, a strange confidence swept through me. Everything suddenly fell into place and I became totally at ease with myself.
