Vishrambaug police officials yesterday arrested an alleged fake doctor, who has been working at a hospital in Navi Peth since 18 months.

The arrested person has been identified as Sushma Kothari, a resident of the city. According to the police, Dr Amruta Ashok Ingale (52), Pune Municipal Corporation’s health department divisional officer, had lodged a complaint in this regard.


According to the complaint, the suspect possesses a PhD degree in Cosmetics, but she has not enrolled herself as a doctor with the medical council, nor does she have any proof of registration with the medical council.


Police said Kothari was working with the Lohiya Hospital in Navi Peth, near Nimbalkar Talim since December 20, 2012. Cops are investigating the matter. u00a0
