At 79, there is no such thing call a full-stop for the queen of melody, who started her singing career as a 10-year-old girl from this city. Bhosale got her first break in 1943 when she sang Chala Chala Nav Bala for the Marathi film "Majha Bal" which was recorded in Pune.u00a0

According to sources, the Mangeshkar family moved from Pune to Kolhapur and then to Mumbai in the early 1940's.u00a0The Mangeshkars shifted their base from the camp city, but it is still very close to their hearts and they always wanted to do something for the Punekars.u00a0

The family started Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital and Mai Mangeshkar Hospital, which serve thousands of patients in the city. "The singer loves Pune as much she loves its food and people. She has worked a lot with local singers such as Shamrao Kamble," said Ranade.
