World No. 1 Andy Murray has been ruled out of the British team to play France for the April 7-9 Davis Cup quarter-final with an elbow injury, while Rafael Nadal will not feature in Spain's team for their quarter-final against Serbia, Spanish captain Conchita Martinez confirmed yesterday

London: World No. 1 Andy Murray has been ruled out of the British team to play France for the April 7-9 Davis Cup quarter-final with an elbow injury, while Rafael Nadal will not feature in Spain's team for their quarter-final against Serbia, Spanish captain Conchita Martinez confirmed yesterday.

The injury that forced Murray to pull out of the ongoing Miami Open, forced him to miss the away tie Meanwhile, Spain will bank on Pablo Carreno Busta (19th in the world rankings), Albert Ramos (24th), Marcel Granollers (41th) and doubles specialist Marc Lopez. Nadal, who played in the first-round victory over Croatia, had already hinted that he would not take part in the match-up against Serbia, which coincides with a required rest period.
