Sources confirmed that Singh, admitted in Shree Sai Hospital at Kandivli East following breathing difficulties, has been mentally disturbed and singing the title track of the serial Balika Vadhu, in which Banerjee acted.

“He sings the song repeatedly, cries hysterically, and hasn’t eaten anything since two days,” sources from the hospital said.

The doctors have said Singh is under observation and will be discharged in a day or two.

His lawyer Neeraj Gupta informed him about the case registered against him for abetment of suicide. Singh, who was crying after the visit of his lawyer, was sedated later.

Singh’s doctors confirmed that he is showing signs of depression. “He hasn't eaten anything and is extremely scared. We have put him on anti-depressants and sedatives because he is trying to remove the IV drip. His blood pressure is 80/100 and he is continually speaking about irrelevant things and repeatedly saying that he wants to go to Banerjee, and doesn't want to stay in the hospital anymore. Our psychiatric counsellors are waiting for his condition to get a little better so that he will respond to the treatment,” said Dr S J Goyal, Chief Medical Officer of the hospital.
