This decision reportedly came from BCCI given his alleged involvement in the 2013 spot-fixing saga in the IPL. Bunty Walia, whose company GS Entertainment had arranged the event with Bunty Sajdeh's Cornerstone Sport, voiced his support for the former co-owner of Rajasthan Royals.
Walia said, "It's unfair that BCCI used its strong-arm tactics to get him withdrawn from the match. It hasn't been proved that Raj is tainted or has a bad influence on the game of cricket. We would like to put on record that the entire ASFC team stands by Raj Kundra." Walia added that the BCCI refused to give the order in writing. "When we asked for it in writing from the BCCI, we were denied outright. It's clear that there is more than meets the eye."
