The Indian Premier League may see the best teams fighting it out in the semi-finals stage soon, but the matches will not have the kind of glamour cricket lovers would want to see in an IPL game.

On Tuesday, Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders destroyed their semi-final chances after being beaten by Chennai Super Kings in Chennai. So, although King Khan may make an appearance in Knight Riders' last two games, he will not be around during the tournament's climax.

Incidentally, Warne's pal Kevin Pietersen crushed the hosts' hopes with an entertaining 62 off just 29 balls to take Royal Challengers home by five wickets after Rajasthan Royals could manage only 130 for six.

It was Pietersen's way of showing his team bosses his utility in the side after being benched for the last three games. He slammed 10 fours and two sixes. To say Warne was dejected would be an understatement.

"Apologies to all Royals fans. Very shattering to play like that tonight in such a big game! Out of IPL... such a shame, our young players have learnt a lot. We are all hurting. Sad feeling to be knocked out," Warne said on Twitter. While at the ground, he said, "our side has come back well from a poor start. We are still in, but we need miracles."

All credit to Bangalore the way they bowled but the start really cost us and we were 20 runs short. It was a pretty good pitch still, but there was some good bowling around," he added.u00a0 Kumble was delighted with his bowlers. "It's really nice to win this game. We were looking to restrict them to 150, but we bowled even better," said the leggie.
