The actress plays truant at an event leaving the filmmakers in the lurch
Controversy queen Rakhi Sawant is at it again. The item girl played truant at an event on Monday where she was to perform and be the stellar attraction.
She had confirmed her presence at the music launch of an upcoming film in which she has done an item number. The makers had made it clear to her that she would be required at functions related to the film to which she had given her nod.

Says a source, “The cast and crew along with the guests were waiting for Rakhi to arrive at the venue at a suburban mall for the launch. When two hours had elapsed after the time she was slated to arrive, frantic calls were made to her but there was no response. Much later her manager called to say, “Madam is out of town”.”
Eventually it was bandit queen-turned-actress Seema Parihaar who was seen in a reality show who did the honours at the event. Actors Yatin Karyekar, Rajesh Khattar and newcomers Manas and Mansi who feature in the film were present.
Adds the source, “It was exasperating for the makers of the film. As it was the music launch, they were keen to have Rakhi as the chief guest. Even after giving her assent days in advance and reconfirming a day prior she left them in the lurch. It took a lot to pacify the agitated guests and media folk present for the event.” Rakhi remained unavailable for comment.u00a0
