B-Town’s pioneers of horror flicks, the Ramsay Brothers, are keen to remake their 1988 project Veerana. The film, which was about a witch creating havoc in the guise of a beautiful young woman, was known for the use of coloured gels to add to the eerie effect.
Says a source, “With the genre of thriller-horrors reigning nowadays, the Ramsays have decided to revisit one of their well known films Veerana. Of late several filmmakers are making scary films, they feel as they were the pioneers of the genre in the Hindi film industry they need to get back to it.” Adds the source, “Their productions always had an old mansion, a door full of blood or an evil being in search of power. Now they want to recreate the yesteryear film with the latest in technology.”
Presently the makers are auditioning actors for the project and are looking at an ensemble cast. The cast of Veerana included Hemant Birje, Jasmine, Sahila Chaddha, Vijendra Ghatge Kulbhashan Kharbanda and Satish Shah. It was directed by Tulsi and Shyam Ramsay with Bappi Lahiri scoring the music. Wonder if any of these names will find themselves revisiting the film too?
