Egypt's Ashour looking for more squash glory in India

Egypt's Ramy Ashour has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the world of squash. After making an entry into the Dunlop PSA World Rankings in November 2004 at 300, he leapt to No 2 at the age of 19 by June 2007.

Ashour stunned the world in August 2004 when he became the youngest ever world junior champion at the age of 16. Three months later he won the Athens Open on Tour debut.

In July 2006, Ashour successfully defended his world junior crown in New Zealand.

Two months later, back on the senior PSA Tour, he romped into the World Open quarter-finals in his home country. All this makes Ashour a star attraction at the Punj Lloyd PSA Masters 2009 to be played at the Bombay Gymkhana from December 5 to 10.

Ashour is seeded 4 at the Punj Lloyd PSA Masters. He has been to India before and knows how to win here.

"When I went to India five years ago and got my first big prize money cheque at the Herald Maritime Services Open invitational tournament. I came back to Cairo and bought a used Peugeot 206. I was so happy that I bought it from my own money!"
