Rane patches up with Congress?

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane, suspended from Congress last month over his outburst against the party leadership, today said he would announce his next political decision within a few days.

"It won't take me long to take a decision, but Congress is a big party, so I am giving it a few days to decide on my case," Rane told reporters.

"Nobody has asked me to tender an apology," Rane said, when asked about media reports which indicated he had already apologised to AICC General Secretary in charge of Maharashtra, A K Antony.

"After I am called for discussion by the party high command, I will answer whatever questions are asked," he said. "My supporters, whom I met today, have given me full authority to take a final decision over my next political move," Rane said and also ruled out his joining BSP.

"There is not a single political party which is not in touch with me," he said. Rane, who joined Congress immediately after he was expelled from Shiv Sena in 2005, was suspended when he attacked Congress leadership after being denied the chief ministerial chair.

Rane has also criticised MPCC president Manikrao Thakre, seen close to his detractor and former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
