Hyderabad made 325/9 declared against hosts Goa, who reached 47 for one in the rain-affected second day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Group C league match played at GCA Ground

Porvorim: Hyderabad made 325/9 declared against hosts Goa, who reached 47 for one in the rain-affected second day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Group C league match played at GCA Ground in Porvorim on Friday.


Play resumed half an hour late this morning due to overnight rain which had forced umpires to call off the play early yesterday with 21 overs left. Showers again interrupted proceedings after lunch when just three overs were bowled. Umpires inspected the ground at 1545 hrs after which the match resumed at 1620 hrs.


Hyderabad, resuming at overnight score of 246/5, added 79 runs before declaring their first innings at 325/9 as Habeeb Ahmed, who retired hurt, did not come out to bat today.


Anirudh C was the first to go, caught behind by wicket-keeper Rahul Keni off Saurabh Bandekar for 28. Shadab Jakati then dismissed Akshay Bhandari when he had him caught by Sagun Kamat for 20.

Vishal Sharma soon followed him as he was run out by Jakati for 14. Rituraj Singh then claimed his third wicket when he cleaned bowled M Hasan (38) as the visitor declared their innings.

Sandeep Tyagi remained not out on 4. Singh (3/25) was the most successful bowler for the hosts. Jakati took two wickets, while Bandekar and Amit Yadav claimed one scalp each. In reply, Goa were 47/1 for the loss of Amogh Desai's wicket. Desai made 14 runs. Swapnil Asnodkar (14), Rituraj Singh (11) were at crease when the play ended.
