Ranveer contracted an infection and high fever while shooting for his upcoming film 'Gunday' at Durgapur. However he chose to continue to shoot as per the schedule inspite of the illness and discomfort, so as to not cause any inconvenience and loss to the production. On his return to Mumbai he was diagnosed with a severe case of dengue fever.
Ranveer is currently admitted in a suburban hospital. Hospital sources expressed their surprise at him having continued to work inspite of his severe condition."The actor is in a positive state of mind even though it is not clear how long it will take for him to recover," a source said.
'Gunday', directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra is slated to release on February 14, 2014. Besides Ranveer was also busy in the promotions of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Ram Leela' starring Deepika Padukone that releases in November this year.
