A victim complained Sanaullah raped her, got her property in his wife's name
A 33-year-old tantrik was arrested in west Delhi for allegedly raping women, later blackmailing them and then compelling them to transfer their property, on Tuesday. Mohd Sanaullah was apprehended from Uttam Nagar on Tuesday, following investigations into a complaint, V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west), said.
The arrest came following a complaint filed by a woman on Monday, who alleged that she was being continuously raped by a tantrik, who also got her property registered in his wife's name, by deceiving her.
"The complainant's husband has been running a transport business for the last few years and the business has not been yielding profit. Someone advised the complainant to approach a tantrik for solving her health and business problems.
The complainant, accordingly approached Sanaullah and after taking Rs 5,000 from her, he asked her to visit him alone on March 24. She went to the place told by the tantrik, who offered her some drinks laced with sedatives. He then raped her," Renganathan said.
The tantrik allegedly threatened her with dire consequences and photographed her using his mobile phone. He later started blackmailing her and compelled her to transfer her property in his wife's name.
"The victim did not tell anybody about her ordeal. But when the tantrik started making new demands, she informed her brother, who advised her to approach the police," Renganathan added.
