Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty did not share the stage on Super Dancer?

Nineteen years after they collaborated on Pardesi Babu (1998), Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon got together to shoot for a TV show on Monday. Tandon turned up as a guest on the dance series, Super Dancer, which sees Shetty as judge. The actors were accompanied by Govinda, who also featured in the 1998 comedy.

An invitation was extended to Tandon and Govinda for the jodi episode following a poll conducted by the channel. A source from the set tells mid-day, "The audience had to vote for a special jodi from Bollywood; one that they wanted to see on the show. They chose Govinda and Raveena. Both the actors obliged." The jodi shook a leg to their chartbuster, Kisi Disco Mein Jaaye (Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, 1998), the source says. Govinda and Shetty also grooved to Ek Chumma Tu Mujhko Udhar De from film Chhote Sarkar (1996). While Shetty and Tandon did not share the stage, a unit hand says they were seen enjoying one another's company in between shots.

"Shilpa also referred to Raveena as the 'new-age Mumtaz' due to her graceful characteristics. They also went live on social media together. They were in high spirits and were laughing throughout the evening." It has been long speculated that industry competition resulted in the duo being at loggerheads for several years. However, Tandon dismisses the suggestions when she tells mid-day, "We have always been good friends. We had a great time when we shot 19 years ago, and did so this time around too. It was like a mini reunion. I am looking forward to working with her once again."

Meanwhile, Shetty was also heard heaping praise on Govinda. "She recalled how she would be nervous to shoot for dance sequences with him. He was always perfect, she suggested. She, on the other hand, could only attempt to match his steps after hours of practice," the source says. The episode is expected to air later this month.
